Dr. Roger Miles

Roger Miles is a leading expert in the analysis and reporting of behavioural risk, primarily in regulated financial markets. He counsels the Boards of public- and private-sector organisations, is co-founder and Faculty Lead at UK Finance’s Academy for behavioural risk, and is an associate at the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) at Cambridge University. As a Doctor of Risk in cognitive science, regulatory design and group behaviour (Centre for Risk Analysis, King’s College London), his specialist research field is language-based study of senior managers’ private sense-making as they cope with “what actually happens” during failures of control. He has written several books on his chosen field of study, including the sector standard handbook: Conduct Risk Management: a behavioural approach.
